We are a full-service mixed billing family practice of dedicated, caring and experienced doctors, nurses and administration staff providing comprehensive health care services to our patients in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We believe in working closely with our patients to maintain and improve their health.
Our mission is to provide health care to the highest standards offering accurate diagnoses and management of patients in a professional and friendly environment and are committed to promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention.
We provide general GP services including immunisations, health assessments, skin checks, skin cancer treatment and chronic disease management, amongst many other services. We are a mixed billing practice however many of our services are bulk billed under Medicare or Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
Our opening hours are:
Monday to Friday: 8am – 5.00pm
We are appointment based and we ask that patients do not turn up too early for their appointment. This enables us to keep the number of patients in the clinic to a minimum so that we remain COVID safe.
Cancellation fees for non-attendance or not giving adequate notice will be charged.
New patients are welcome.
Dr Crook is a UK trained Doctor who moved to the Central Coast in 2014. He completed his training in the North West of England and has an interest in Dermatology, skin surgery and chronic disease management.
As a founding member of Coastal Health Medical Centre, Dr Crook is an enthusiastic and motivated GP with a strong focus on patient centred care.
He is an excellent communicator and thrives on building long-term Doctor-Patient relationships to provide excellent quality care. He works at both The Entrance and Toukley clinics.

Following this he saw the light & turned to the dark side of the force and retrained as a GP with a specialist interest in Sports and musculoskeletal conditions and urgent care management in Primary Care.

Dr Joanna Zakrzewski is an experienced General Practitioner who previously worked at Gosford Hospital. Dr Zakrzewski’s main areas of interest are family planning, women’s health, travel, sport and nutrition. Her interests include playing in an orchestra, playing bridge and running (having competed at world championship and Commonwealth Games level) and as a qualified athletic coach. Dr Zakrzewski is bilingual in French and English.

Dr Alex Apfel is a British trained doctor who has very recently joined our practice having moved over to the Central coast with his young family from Cornwall in the UK this year.
He graduated for Brighton and Sussex Medical school in 2010, he moved on to complete an internship in Bristol before moving to South Africa to work in Emergency Medicine for a couple of years. On returning to the UK to he completed his training in general practice in 2018.

She has had the opportunity to develop her skills in Internal Medicine for five years in Brazil, and achieved the Title of Specialist in Internal Medicine, being able to supervise medical students and post graduates. During that time, she had the opportunity to experience working at different hospitals, in different roles, such as team leader of the Emergency Department, and Specialist Consultant for Internal Medicine, and to develop some academic skills working as a Senior Medical Officer and teaching at the Internal Medicine Department. Alongside, she has completed two years of post-graduation in Dermatology and became a member of the Brazilian society of clinical and surgical dermatology.
She will be available for appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

She has an interest in Women’s Health – particularly contraception, pregnancy and sexual health. She has completed her Diploma in the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Heathcare (FSRH) and is able to fit contraceptive implant devices. Dr Dorbin has also completed menopause training and is interested in improving the quality of care for women at this stage of life.
She also has experience in mental health and child health. Outside of work she spends her time looking after her 3 children, running, swimming and yoga.
