Due to Federal government policies such as the Medicare freeze, the Medicare rebate value has fallen far short of inflation for the past 10 years. In order to be able to maintain the high quality of healthcare their patients currently receive, the Doctors can no longer continue the level of bulk billing that has been provided in the past, and many services that were previously exclusively bulk billed will incur a private fee.

Children, Aged Pensioner & Health Care Card holders may be offered a reduced rate. Please familiarise yourself with our billing policy as you may no longer be entitled to bulk billing regardless of whether you have been bulk billed in the past.

Fees policy

  • All non-concession card holders will be privately billed
  • All New Patients will be required to pay the New Patient fee when booking their appointment (DVA exempt)
  • Outstanding accounts will incur a non-payment fee

New fees from 2nd October 2023

Short Consultation: $50 (concession $40)

Standard Consultation: $90 (concession $70)

Long Consultation: $150 (concession $120)

New Patients

Skin Cancer Clinic

For current fees and information please refer to the Coastal Health Skin Clinic website – found here

New patient fee – medical consultations (first visit only): $130

We are accepting new patients at our practices, but it is subject to the Doctors’ availability and their current patient load.

Due to the chronic Doctor shortage on the Central Coast we are unable to place all requests for new patients. So that we can ensure we are offering a comprehensive service to all our patients (new and existing), if we are unable to place you directly with a Doctor, your request will be placed on a list for our Doctors to review each day. If they have capacity to take on new patients our reception team will contact you to make an appointment at the next available appointment. We are currently booked 2 weeks in advance. If you are not contacted by the end of the day, unfortunately we don’t currently have capacity to assist with your healthcare needs.

Please give us 2 hours notice if you cannot attend your Medical appointment

All new patient fees are due and payable on booking.

Please note: New patient fees for the Medical Centre and the Skin Cancer Clinic are not refunded if you do not attend. The notification period for cancelling appointments is different for each entity:

  • 2hrs for the Medical Centre
  • 48 hrs for the Skin Cancer Clinic

Cancellation Fees

We understand that unplanned issues can come up and you may need to cancel an appointment, however when a patient does not show up for a scheduled appointment, another patient loses an opportunity to be seen.

You can cancel or change your Coastal Health Medical appointment without incurring any fees, as long as you give us at least two hours notice (*48hrs notice for the Skin Cancer Clinic).

To cancel or change your appointment please phone us on 4333 1222 or cancel on HotDoc.

Cancellation fees:

  • Standard consultation (with less than 2 hrs notice): $40
  • Long consultation (with less than 2 hrs notice): $80
  • Skin cancer check / spot check / procedure (with less than 48hrs notice): $80

No part of this fee can be claimed back from Medicare and must be paid prior to booking the next appointment.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Non-payment of account

Consultations in the clinic are due and payable immediately after your consultation – if you are unable to pay your account please discuss alternative payment arrangements with reception before leaving the practice.

All accounts are due on the day of the consultation.

Payment for telephone consultations can be completed online using the link sent to your mobile phone via HotDoc or can be paid over the phone with our reception team.  For security reasons, no card details can be stored in our system.

If you are unable to pay your account please call reception to discuss alternative payment arrangements.

Accounts that have not been finalised within 3 days of the appointment may incur a non-rebatable, Non-Payment Fee of $60 and no future appointments will be made until the outstanding account is paid in full. Patients who do not pay their account may be required to pay a re-registration fee to return to the practice.
