To enable our practices to provide comprehensive medical care we have made the decision to change from Bulk Billing practices to Mixed Billing practices. The decision to change our billing model is based on the disparity between Medicare rates and inflation.
This change will come into effect from 1st August 2022 and the fees will be published on our website and in the practice.
Many services associated with preventative health, DVA patients, 16 years and under, and the over 75 years group will be directly billed to Medicare. (Please note that from January 2023 the over 75 years group will no longer be bulk billed.)
It is a policy of Coastal Health Medical Centre that we require payment for appointments at the time of the appointment. If a telehealth appointment is conducted, payment is required after your appointment and must be finalised within 72hours. Payments can be made over the phone and patients are required to contact the practice to pay their account.
Non-payment of any account will result in your file being made inactive, and a $40 reactivation fee will be required to be paid before any other appointments can be made.
To ensure the health and safety of our staff, cash payments are discouraged.
A full list of our fees can be found here.
